So I found out something today about a co-worker who I thought I could trust. I was very wrong, this person has been talking behind my back to basically everyone. This was a huge slap in the face to me and I am so mad I'm shaking and yet I want to cry at the same time because it upsets me so damn much. This has certainly made me think twice about the people I let into my life and talk to on a daily basis. So a big **** you to this person and this place.

That sucks. This is why I don't have friends at work. All cheating basterds. Stab you in the back as soon as look at you.

Yeah that is going to be my new policy that's for sure. It's sad it has to be that way. I work in a very small office (10 people total) and its going to be hard when I have to see this person come Tuesday without wanting to rip her head off.
Another part of this that makes me mad is my mom has sent gifts/birthday cards to her young children, and she does sends my mom cards. I want to tell my mom to never send her a thing again as she doesn't deserve it.

Do it. Who cares. Just kill her and get it overwith.

Yeah, and then talk with Stan. He knows some great places to hide bodies all over the country.

Women. You can't really expect much else at the workplace. That's all they do, gossip and gab. :p

Actually he's right, women are chatty gossipers who stab people in the back, I should have known better and from now on I will change my behavior. I also hate having female bosses, they are usually rude as hell.
I know how you feel BB. Worked for an ISP where basically if you were married you were osterisized. My senior department manager was female and a very nice person who I thought supported me. We quit speaking after I left the company due to what happened regarding work.
A secondary department manager who was promoted to assist her a few months after I got there, and hated me from day one because I was a "threat" to her. Basically because I could sell the ISP to people, winning all sales contests for almost a year, knew a good deal about the tech side of things at the time, and dared try to be friends with the other married female in the work place. The jealous one then took it upon herself to monitor every call I received at my desk, including ones after I was off the clock and calling for my ride to pick me up. She twisted everything to her advantage, sent e-mails to me on my days off and on the evening shifts (I worked days) to make it look like I never answered them, stole change from the cash box to make it look like I was stealing, and got me fired without giving a reason (they can do that in this f-ed up state believe it or not). She then continued her vendetta to try to get my money owed to me for two years worth of vacations and the state unemployment stipend blocked.
Guess who went, got herself a lawyer, and had all records supenaed (sp?). I found out the real reason behind the firing. The jealous one didn't like the fact I was pregnant and married. (I was osterasized from the department parties and other events after the wedding)
At least with guys they are straight forward in the work place. Women bosses I have found are gossipy and can be very mean.

Beebs, having some experience with the kind of people you found this woman to be, I think I can give you some advice.
Don't let on.
When you go to work Tuesday, don't let on that you know how two-faced she is. Y'see, the thing about people like that (as Gaia illustrated) is that they're usually very stupid when it comes to street smarts. They don't cover their asses sufficiently. There will come a day when she needs you, either to save her hide or to bail her out of a sticky situation. THAT is when you strike. You want to minimize the collateral damage (so you don't go in yelling and screaming and making your problems the entire office's problems. That would jeopardize YOUR job and your standing amongst your co-workers). You want to get HER and her alone. I'm usually not a very patient person. But in situations like this, when I have revenge on my mind, I've been known to lie in wait for decades. You don't have to keep it at the forefront of your mind either. When the opportunity presents itself, the FIRST thing you will remember is how this person stabbed you in the back or otherwise wronged you. You'll remember every single example of it too, since it will form the basis of your motivation to NOT help them. Don't tell your mother to change what she does either. You want to lull her into a false sense of security, so she thinks she's getting away with her dirty deeds. That will make the opportunity come faster, because she won't be consciously trying to cover herself.
Or, since you're a woman as well, you could always take matters into your own hands. I've seen a right jab-left hook-left uppercut-overhand right combination work very well. ;) Just be sure to lean into the hook so the uppercut is easier to fire off right after it. The overhand should catch her square on the temple as she's falling to the ground. Puts a nice exclamation point on things.

If you're going to start a fight, do it mid-sentence. People never expect it.
