Are there any graphics cards I can use with my laptop, or am I stuck with the one I have?

Most of the laptops I know of have consolidated Motherboards, power supply units, processors, and graphics cards. The only real thing I'm sure you're able to upgrade on a laptop is RAM.

It's the price you pay for portability.

Lame...the graphics card doesn't even make anything look metallic/leathery, and the costume details aren't very sharp looking at all.

But, if increase the Ram, I can up the detail of the graphics, like world/character detail?

RAM will just make everything load faster, and run quicker. Shouldn't change your visuals at all besides handling effects with less lag.

Unless the card can handle the better graphics, and he just has them turned down for performance.
