The Widowed

The passage of time is a very important factor in this campaign. Rounds and turns, minutes and hours...these are easy units of time for me to manage. But the greater units of time are involved as well. It may take three days to travel from one city to the next, or the party may only have enough supplies for five days. The new armory that you're adding onto the crypts will take two months to complete. The undead enjoy greater power on a certain holiday; How soon until that holiday takes place? The roads will be more treacherous--and predators more ravenous--during winter; When will winter come, and how long will it last? I also have my own particular reason for keeping track of lunar cycles, that and the usual lycanthrope activity. And after one entire year has passed since the Ainsley family first rose from their graves, what then?
Clearly I need a calendar. But the question is, which one?
The four seasons are to remain intact, of course, and the number of months in the calendar must therefore be divisible by four. To this end, I have a few options:
1) Borrow our standard calendar with its days (Sunday, Monday...) and months (January, February...) intact, but change all of the local, national and international holidays to tailor-made ones (out with Christmas, in with the Feast of Lanterns...).
2) Borrow the Elder Scrolls series' calendar with its days (Morndas, Tirdas...), months (Morning Star, Sun's Dawn...) and holidays (Tibedetha, Witches' Festival, Tales and Tallows...) intact.
3) Tailor a new 12-month calendar for the campaign, with days and months named for various gods, heroes and other characters of note (Mon'Pelora, Mon'Moradi, Di'Kazi, Di'Tenseri...) and a variety of customized local, provincial and international holidays.
4) Tailor a new 16-month calendar for the campaign, with days and months named for various gods, heroes and other characters of note, along with the aforementioned assortment of holidays.
5) Suggest something.
Vote and discuss.
