I was gonna go see a movie with a few friends of mine yesterday. The plan was that I go pick up a freind in my car, and meet up with everyone else at another friends house. Now, another friend, lets call him Friend #1, was driving his car with Friends 2 and 3 as passengers. We were going to Friend 5's house to pick her up. Now I didn't know where she lived, so I was to follow him with Friend 4 in my car.

Now that the scenario is set, I begin my tale.

As we leave Friend 2's neighborhood, Friend 1 decides to speed away, leaving me in the dust. I was going 60 just trying to keep up, so he must have been going at least 80. I said forget him and slowed down. As he rockets through the intersection, I hit the red light, and he turns off at the next intersection toward Frind 5's house, out of sight. A few minutes later, green light goes up, I go to try to catch up with him. Waiting to turn left at the next intersection, I look to the street I am to take, and I see Friend 1's car pulled over on the median with everyone standing around.

Now I think to myself "Great, he pulled over to wait for me."

I say to friend 4 next to me, in a joking manner "Either they did a Chinese fire drill or he hit a tree"

I look closer.

"OH MY GOD HE HIT A TREE!"

3 hours later, a stoned Highway Patrolman comes, fills a report, and Friend 1 goes home. Me and Friends 2-4 go to Friend 5's house, order pizza, watch AvP, and thats how we spent the night. Not exactly what was planned, but not so bad. Most important thing was that no one was hurt, except for maybe Friend 1's pride.

Thanks for driving cautiously, people who drive that fast, shouldn't be driving, because what if it was a pedestrian he could have hit instead of a tree? :grr:

Well, the good thing that I hope comes from that is everyone involved drives within the speed limit from now on. Driving like a maniac will eventually lead to a seriously bad end. Glad everyone was ok.
