I saw this a few days ago in my local paper but it wasn't till tonight that I finally watched it, and woo boy did I have a laugh. This stupid ABC station in Utah did a "Shocking Expose" all about the Emo culture.
IS YOUR CHILD ONE OF THEM!!?
The shocking story!
What you will see is graphic!!
Click here, click the video, laugh. (http://www.abc4.com/content/features/story.aspx?content_id=0391E6F3-4081-4C8F-86C5-D72A03A31220&gsa=true)
I loved it the most when their playing the "lyrics" of the songs and they used "The Emo Song" from YTMND that was making fun of the whole thing. I also love how they use Wikipedia as a reference source.
So cheer up Emo kids, it could be worse. You could live in Utah!

It is utterly ridiculous that half of the sources they have used for the article originate in satire.

Talk about ****ty journalism. Yet still entertaining.
Have to say it's not a surprise that the teen suicide rate is at an all time high when even their journalists are this dumb.

************s. How can they **** up "I Will Follow You Into the Dark"? And then play "Your Heart is an Empty Room?"

Yep. It's great that a great number of emo kids have no idea who Death Cab for Cutie even are, isn't it? And even more great that these guys have managed to completely misinterpret them.

It's like assuming "What Sarah Said" is about a guy who murders his girlfriend because he wants to look her in the eyes, when she dies.

Your avatar frightens me...
Also, I originally read the title of this thread as 'EMMOs exposed,' and I'm disappointed now. Although I guess I could just wait until the WoD game comes out.

Ok I live in Utah and the journalism is NOT an example of the culture here. I think our news stations are many times idiots with their stories and have even posted as much on their sites. I saw the promo for this news story before it aired and groaned knowing it was going to be uneducated drivel.

:yoy: You mean misinformed, paranoid journalism on a slow news day isn't just in Utah? I've been mislead, I'm so depressed...OMG! I might be turning EMO.
All joking aside for a moment, people act like this decade's youth invented depression and self hatred or something.

Yeah, they invented that in the 1920s.
