View Full Version : I feel awful :(

Okay, this is just me whining, and hoping to garner a little sympathy.
I feel awful. I don't know why. I never get sick *knocks on wood*. But for some reason last night and today, I've felt totally rotten: headache, body aches, no appetite. All I want to do is sleep, like for days.
I woke up around 11, ate breakfast, took a shower, and then took a nap until 3:30. This sucks. I have things I need to do today. Sleep is a waste of my time. My headache won't go away. Even after all that sleeping, I feel like I need to sleep more. *sighs*
I really can't afford to be getting sick, or even to be sleeping this much, right now.
I'll stop whining now. Sorry.
*crawls back onto the couch and curls up with a blanket to sleep*

I know you might not want to hear this, but seriously just rest up and do nothing. It might make it worse for later, if you become too active.
But that really sucks. Get well soon.
Well now that it is summer, and you're probably out of school I suggest taking week's vacation. To where? Your living room. Bedroom. Out somewhere in the garden or whatever you find your comfort zone. No CoH either. Keep off the computer. Clear your head. Drink plenty of liquids. And get in bed earlier than what you normally do. Suggestions:
-Rent a movie and pop some popcorn
-Get a good book
-Go hot tubbing if you have one
-Sit out on the porch, with lemonade/ice tea and enjoy the weather

Poor Alumette... :(
I have to say, I agree with the guys above me. You may have obligations, but some things are more important than that. Physical health is one of those things, especially for a ballet dancer.
Over here, the exams are just about to start, and our English teacher (which is an equivalent of you as a French teacher) called in sick until the rest of the year. Everyone, including the students and the principals understand the situation and respect it, even though he doesnt dance in ballet (and what an amusing thought that would make).
Heres what i suggest you to do:
-Call in sick to whatever you were supposed to do
-Get some nice chicken soup
-That cheesecake you like, for desert
-Rent "Hero"
-Eat, watch the movie tucked in a bed, and dont feel shy to fall asleep in the middle. The whole thing is just a collection of beautiful images anyway.
We know you're a tough girl. Now you have to learn to let it go a little.

Ah, that built-up fatigue finally comes around. My advice? Pay $50 for a good massage session...which can go up to about $100 if it comes with a sauna, a hot tub or some other bonus amenity (mud baths cost even more, but those are better for coddling your skin than nudging toxins out of your muscles). Or, if your own lover is halfway competent and you have a bottle of warm baby oil handy, you can get a head-to-toe rubdown for free. Just be ready to offer one in return as part of the unspoken deal.... :)

:* Rest up. Be lazy and just relax, nap if you want. Eat some comfort food. I do hope you are back to feeling normal again soon.

I'm feeling better now. Thanks for all the well-wishes. I went in to school today to do some grading, etc. for the end of the year and after about 4 hours couldn't even look at it anymore. I also could only turn my head about 45 degrees to the right or left, because my neck and shoulders were so tense. So I said "Forget it, none of this is so important it can't wait till I feel better."
I went home, worked out for about and hour and a quarter, fixed myself a yummy dinner, and then took a very long, very hot shower. I deep-conditioned my hair and used my dark chocolate truffle-scented shower gel. I gave myself a facial, and I got a massage with lavender-scented oil (my fave). I am now completely stupid. :) After I chat a bit with some very dear folks, I plan to drink some chamomile tea, do a little yoga, and get back on the wagon with my meditation. I will then crawl into bed in my super-fuzzy comfy PJ's, throw on some baroque music, and read some historical fiction.
I also plan to remain in that state in suspended animation for a month, but unfortunately I can't. :(
One more week till summer vacation. :)
Thanks again for all the good vibes.
