What kinds of activities interest you on a vacation? Rem and I are trying to narrow down our options and we need some help. I'm seeing a lot of golf packages, for instance, but somehow I don't see too many Gurus golfing. ;)

So, what do you like to do when you travel?

Sightseeing?
City/nightlife?
Hiking?
Camping?
Boating/waterskiing/canoing?
Rock climbing?
Tennis?
Golf?
Lounging on the beach?
Swimming?
Fishing?
Checking out live bands?
Spa services?
Scuba diving/snorkeling?
Horseback riding?

Anything else?

All minus golfing sound great to me. I hope I can make this! I'd love to dabble in and out of all of these.

drinking?

Alumette

lol. Well, drinking is a given. You can do that pretty much anywhere. ;)

Honestly it's impossible to find any sort of vacation that doesn't include golf. *sigh*

In any case there is a lot out there and what I'm hoping to do is find something that will have a little bit of something for everyone, within the broad categories of:

Cruise
All-inclusive resort/lodge/spa
Villa/Condo rental

All of these options, we're hoping, will have about the same price range, so it really boils down to what people want to do and where they want to stay.

Keep the "activities" comments coming, guys! This is very helpful!

I would enjoy golfing. Everything on the list except hiking/camping. I'm not a fan of hiking and I did a lot of camping as a kid and have had my share.

Depending on where we are(say if its out of the U.S. almost anywhere) I won't be legal for any form of drinking :(

Anyways, a lot of that sounds great, nightlife would be fun if I went(still not sure because I'll be in college) but it would be cool, and I suck at golf but it would be fun. I think I'd be willing to try stuff.

Thanks Lummy, I believe it was Electro who made the mod for the laptop, and I just never deleted it.

Anyways, glad to add input, and I mean water sports are always fun(haven't read through every thing on the list for time) and I mean I'm pretty fine with camping and hiking, haven't really done it so it would be an adventue.

Thanks Gaia. I took a look at your comments on the other thread too, regarding stuff to do for the kids. I definitely think we are looking into places that have kids' activities/are family-friendly. It will be fun to meet all this Guru spawn! :-)

Any of the above are fine. Add thrill rides, fighter combat, laser tag, and even network gaming. If it wasn't summer I'd suggest, again, the valley since Sedona, frightenling good shopping, the Grand Canyon, river rafting and hiking, night life and cowboy shoot outs are all less then 4 hours away (mostly an hour or two, the canyon is a drive but can be done in one day, 2 is better), plus gambling. Thing is, it would be hot (100 or more depending on the month, humid too maybe 30% in july), rates would probably be pheonominal though.

Blow Sh1t Up! Maybe DAH can get us onto a base....
Seriously though, I think any of those would be ok with me.
