Some of us don't have the technical skill to do that; so are you volunteering to build one for him? :eyebrow:

Please, tell us where you're getting all these parts where it's cheaper than some of these construct it for. Don't forget to include shipping too.
BTW, I recommend this place instead of Alienware, www.cyberpowerpc.com

I'd go with one of their video editing workstations including Adobe Premiere and such, I'd love to be able to make music videos again.. this ones done ran out of space.

Agreed!
Ditto on that.
If we were talking an ultimate machine I'd go for...
...well I have this tendency to pace when I'm excited so I need a computer that paces with me so I need...
... one of these. (http://www.whiteboxrobotics.com/2005/PCBOTS/model914.htm) ;)

r2...d2...
and i agree on the whole, building a PC
I would recommend always building over a complete system, unless of course we are talking laptops. And man I love the robot computer now only if you could program it to get you a beer (soda for you young 'ens)

i'm all for building my own... if only I could afford the parts... I want one where I can get 20fps on a hami raid...or at least 10... 1.5-2fps really sucks ass. I built the one I got now and the one before that and the one before that... think the first one I built was a celeron 300A the ones you could overclock to 450 real well... yes that was a long freaking time ago... think right after that PIIIs came out... *goes looking to edit the wanting to be called ma'am post and blows it up*

Ohhh, and if you are going to build a computer, or even buy one, Id wait for Dual Core Chips to come out. They aren't that far away.
I don't buy into the greatness of the dual core. I would wait on it then pick one up after more software has been written to take full advantage of the dual core
Thats just my .3 cents
