I am looking into purchasing either ventrilo or teamspeak for the Knights and wanted to know which do you all think I should go with? Our old WoW counterpart used ventrilo and it seemed to be pretty easy to use.

Also, any sites you all could recommend would be helpful. I would love it if I could get one where it is hosted on a server rather than me. I hope I understand that correctly.

We are looking for a service that can accomodate 50-75 people at once and possibly be upgraded to 100 at a later date.

I have no experience with Ventrilo at all. I have used TS many times before and I don't have any problems with it. It's simple to use.

I use ventrillo, TS, and skype. To be honest I have always found TS to rather cumbersome and slows down my game. I enjoyed using vent and did not have a slowdown with it. Skype is good too but very limited as to how many people can be on at once. (free vent is also only 10 people for the server, same with skype)

Thanks. I definitely don't want to hurt anyone's gaming. I plan to pay for it through the Knight Fund so price is not a big issue for it as long as people use it. I think it will come in handy for a coordinated Hamidon Raid.

What I am looking for is a voice chat that allows

Alot of users (50+)
Not much drain of computer speeds
Remote server
Abilty to make multiple rooms for different mission teams, TFs and passworded rooms

I've been using Vent to talk to RL friends who play and I haven't had a problem with it. Appearantly, the servers are pretty cheap. Around $5/month from what they've said.

I've never had an issue with TS before, I've used Ventrillo and had connection issues in the past.

Vent has better codecs (better sound quality) I believe. I prefer its UI.

I like TS' UI better, since it looks a lot cleaner and less generic than Vent, and I like how the voice doesn't sound like Stephen Hawking is in the room when people enter/leave the chat. Other than that, I like Vent more.

Vent rules because you can individually adjust the volume of each user, so if someone if being too soft or too loud, you can turn them up or down without touching the master volume.

You can turn that off or replace it with a tone.

I found vent easier to use than TS, simplicity > most things

I've used both TS and Vent. Vent was during my SWG addiction. TS is now :)

I'd advise trying both. The TS server software is free as is Vent I believe. Have a bunch of people try both and see which does what you want.

The DoP/Guru (unofficial) TS server runs on my email/download box.

Have used both, don't really prefer one over the other, although the new TS2 client is pretty slick.
