Hey, does anyone know of any reliable shareware software for gaming voice chat. Most messengers I’ve tried to use will not allow more than two people in a group to chat, meaning one on one only, even when its claims to have conference chat yet it won’t allow any more that two people which really defeats the purpose of offering conference chat when you can just do the same thing in a regular IM voice chat if you ask me.

I’ve tried;
Trillion=must buy full service
WLM=Windows Live Messenger
Yahoo=unstable and drops chats
AIM=which no longer offers voice chat
Roger Wilco=Sound like you’re on a walkie talkie
All suck.

Some suggestion with some details would be awesome.

Thanx

Teamspeak (http://www.goteamspeak.com/) or Ventrilo (http://www.ventrilo.com/) is what most people use for that kind of stuff. Surprised you've never heard of either of them. :p

Well I have heard of Teamspeak just never could get it to work and it requires monthly payments for service to use their servers hence the Shareware request I posted. I'll admit I've never hear of ventrillo though and will look into it. Thanx for the response Krypto. If anyone else have any suggestions, please freel free to post it here.

Ah, Ventrilo's pretty much the same thing then. :/

Even though they come with a price. Which one would you recommend? I don't find Teamspeak very user friendly myself.

My EQ2 guild uses Ventrilo, as do all other guilds we know.

Hmm, I personally kinda like TS better because I like the UI better than Ventrilo's. Vent's is kinda plain. But I don't think you can really go wrong with either of them.

Ventrillo has better codecs. Sounds much better.

Plus you can adjust the individual volume of other people, which is always handy! :)

How? I haven't found that, and it is very needed (a guy in france I play with is very hard to hear compared to anyone else).

In Vent, right click on the person's name, go down to Miscellaneous, and then click Special Effects. In the list on the right, click Volume, then Add.

You can also readjust the volume later by going back to Special Effects, clicking on Volume (in the left list this time), and clicking on Properties.

So, whats' the adverage server renting fees for Ventrillo. I could always just run another computer and make it the server right or since it's only like 3 people I'm talking to anyways, could I just run it on my computer or would that tax my machine while trying to play CoH?
