SFX magazine recently held a poll of the top sci-fi movies ever made. Can you guess which one came in at #1?

Personally, I really enjoyed this movie, but I think to label it the top sci-fi movie is a bit of a stretch.

Here's the list:
1. Serenity
2. Star Wars (pictured)
3. Blade Runner
4. Planet of the Apes
5. The Matrix
6. Alien
7. Forbidden Planet
8. 2001: A Space Odyssey
9. The Terminator
10. Back to the Future
No way I'd make Serenity #1. No way I'd include Back to the Future at all.(sorry folks, it's good.... but not THAT good)
My list of titles that are good enough but got snubbed:
The Day the Earth Stood Still
Logan's Run
Colossus: The Forbin Project
Marooned
I'm sure there are more. Feel free to add any you see fit.

As much as I like Serenity, there's plenty of better Sci-fi movies.
And which version of Blade Runner are we talking about? There's like three different cuts that alter the story greatly.

I hope they mean the original "Planet of the Apes", and not the Tim Burton one.
I love Serenity and the whole Firefly universe, but I am rather surprised to see it on top. Some of my favorites (in no particular order):
Forbidden Planet
Alien
Aliens
2001
Sleeper
Blade Runner
The 5th Element
Star Wars ep IV
Rollerball (if that qualifies as Sci Fi ... um, the James Caan one, not the one with LL Cool J, et al)
Serenity
The Matrix
The Terminator
War of the Worlds (the original from the '50s)

10. Back to the Future
Most of this list is okay, but yeah, while I am a Browncoat, Serenity should not be #1.
Logen's Run should so be on this list. I think I'd also add Enemy Mine, and the Martian Chronicles, too. Also, a classic is Metropolis, though I'm not sure I'd put it in the top 10.

If Back to the Future made it on there and it's what I'd call a Comedy with Sci-Fi Elements.. Ghostbusters belongs on there close to number one, cause it falls in the same Category and is much better.. >>
