I beta tested Lineage II, I didn't really enjoy it, the graphics where beautiful, but it was a point and click mmo, and the combat was no fun.

Punting around? I get the distinct impression that you're British, Tarbie. :D
EDIT: On another note, it looks like that Sphere MMOG didn't last very long, did it? Has anyone here even heard of it?
(Go, Puzzle Pirates, go go! You can do it! :) )

The graphics though... whoa.

Ya, Lineage II was one of those straight up grinds with nothing to cover it up, plus the controls where clunky at best. The only really interesting content is all really late in the game and it simply isn't worth working towards. The graphics are great but character customization blew some massive goats, every third person or so was identical.

I laways thought Lineage 2 was for folks who liked looking up elf skirts? I mean...have you seen them cast spells? It makes our jiggly thread look tame by comparison :P.

That was a great find Tarby. The E3 MMO info is cool. I'm still playing that Face of Mankind game someone posted a while ago, and I see it has at least 2 already publically unveiled FPS MMO competitors, that look much better then it.

They may have close to 4 million “players”, but most of these players did not buy a box at the local software store and then pay a monthly subscription fee like traditional MMOGs. Instead, they play in “PC baangs”, Internet cybercafes in Korea that buy Lineage access from the company and then sell it at hourly rates to customers. This, combined with the unusual Korean dynamic of rapid deployment of broadband and the fact that imports of Japanese console platforms were restricted, made Lineage unusually popular.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why Koreans will take over the earth.
